Los Gatos Hillside Swimming Hole

Dynamic views and a very steep hillside are the prominent site features that influenced the design of this naturalistic swimming hole. Our challenge was to transform a severe slope into a useable space. The resulting design includes a swimming pool with waterfalls, diving rocks, a waterslide, and a patio for intimate casual entertaining. The hardscape elements are created with poured concrete sculpted and stained to mimic natural rock, resulting in a natural looking feature that blends well with the existing oak woodland. Our selection of drought-tolerant, oak-compatible planting furthers the feeling of being nestled into a natural hillside.
